Nir Ofek obtained his M.Sc. in accelerated program for outstanding students in the Department of Information Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, (“Magna Cum Laude”). He received his Ph.D. in the same departments in 2016 and His research focused on computational intelligence efforts to ‘understand’ text, and to grant access into the thoughts, opinions, and beliefs of populations. Nir visited Penn-State University where he collaborated with several institutes as part of the American Cancer Society sentiment-analysis project, and published over twenty articles. He led several academic projects and played a key role in several industrial endeavours. Nir is currently a member of several research groups, and studies the question of becoming aware of lived experience, in order to expand our scientific understanding of consciousness.
